Solo entonces me percaté de que había conseguido lo que deseaba: el silencio más profundo que la vida puede experimentar. El silencio más real se presentó ante mí. En aquel instante mis dudas se desvanecieron con mi dolor y comprendí.)

(¡No! ¡Tú tampoco puedes verlo! ¡¿Es que nadie puede verlo?! ¿Nadie se da cuenta? A ti me refiero. No lo que habla sino lo que quiere hablar. No lo que siente sino lo que quiere sentir, la esencia del sentimiento. A esa cosa que mueve nuestro cuerpo y donde viven los pensamientos, a lo que tú y yo y todos nos referimos cuando hablamos de yo. ¿Acaso no somos, al igual que los personajes de tus historias, nacidos de información en movimiento, la sombra de palabras que hablan el lenguaje de la electricidad y los elementos más básicos? ¿Qué nos diferencia de ellos, los escritos en papel, estando nosotros escritos en aire? ¿Qué les diferencia de nosotros? ¡¿Acaso alguna vez te has parado a pensar en el dolor al que los has sometido?! No, claro que no.
